Arestin

Dr. Oakley may use a locally placed antibiotic to treat your periodontal disease. Arestin (minocycline HCl) is an antibiotic which kills bacteria causing gum infections. It is placed directly into infected periodontal pockets after scaling and root planing in areas where brushing and flossing can't reach.

Arestin fights infection and inflammation for 30 days and provides significantly better results than scaling and root planing alone for up to 90 days.
